Sheep casings are among the thinnest and finest natural casings, making them particularly suitable for high-quality, thin types of sausage such as frankfurters, Rostbratwurst, and also dry sausages. The Saitling, i.e. the processed small intestine of the sheep, provides the characteristic “snap” when you bite into it.

Sheep casings are not only tender to the bite, but also filling-stable and particularly efficient for use in high-performance filling machines, which makes them attractive for industrial applications. In addition, they allow smoke aromas to pass through particularly well, making them ideal for smoked products.
